A recent survey has revealed that around 6% of diabetes sufferers across India have been affected.
A study by the Harvard Public Health School in the United States has conducted a study on diabetes and high blood pressure across India. Apart from Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir, about 6 per cent of India’s population has been diagnosed with diabetes, with the study of more than 13 million men and women in 27 states and 5 Union territories.
6.5 per cent of males and 6.1 per cent of males suffer from diabetes. Similarly, 24.5 percent of men have high blood pressure and 20 percent of women have been affected by similar symptoms. The study also states that middle class and poor living in rural areas are suffering from this type of disease.
